Job Description

As the Demi Chef De Partie specializing in Chinese Cuisine, you will assist in the preparation and execution of authentic Chinese dishes, ensuring quality, consistency, and presentation standards are met. You will be responsible for a particular section of the kitchen and support the Chef De Partie in daily operations, including food preparation, hygiene practices, and team coordination.

About the role:

  • Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with the recipes and presentation standards.
  • Support the Chef De Partie in running the assigned kitchen section efficiently.
  • Maintain high levels of cleanliness and hygiene in compliance with HACCP and food safety standards.
  • Assist with mise en place for the section and ensure readiness for service.
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the supervisor.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior staff.
  • Ensure correct handling and storage of all food items and equipment.
  • Whenever required, communicate with guests to prepare food based on their specific preferences.

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position or preferably in a high-end restaurant or luxury hotel.
  • Proficient in English and Mandarin (written and verbal).
  • Knowledge of Chinese cuisine, HACCP and safety standards.
  • Outgoing, creative personality, excellent communication skills, flexible working hours, ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment.
  • Strong multicultural awareness and ability to work with people from diverse cultures.
  • Great attention to detail and creativity.
