    Job Description

    At Fairmont Banff Springs, our engaging service and delicious cuisine make every special event a truly memorable affair, both within our distinctive surroundings and off-site. Be an ambassador for our exceptional offerings as Conference Service & Catering Manager, where you will liaise between multiple departments to meet the needs – and exceed the expectations – of your clients.

    Competitive Salary: $65,000 - $68,000 gross annually, based on previous experience & education
     
    Job Duties Include:
    Reporting to the Assistant Director, Conference Services, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

    • Main Focus: Coordinate weddings from initial booking through execution, including guest rooms, food & beverage, audiovisual, spa, golf, and overall event logistics.
    • Serve as the primary contact for wedding clients—confirming event details, conducting test meals, and maintaining strong relationships before, during, and after the event.
    • Create and confirm detailed floor plans and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) in collaboration with clients and banquet teams to ensure smooth event setup and service.
    • Oversee billing procedures, including timely collection of deposits and accurate documentation of all financial details.
    • Participate in daily and weekly meetings to communicate event updates, address last-minute changes, and ensure alignment across all departments.

    Qualifications

    Your Skills & Qualifications:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
    • Experience with Sales & Catering software or property management (PM) systems (preferred)
    • Previous experience in Conference Services, Sales, Banquets, or Event Planning within a luxury hotel setting (preferred)
    • Post-secondary education in Hospitality, Event Management, or a related field (preferred)
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
    • Skilled in problem-solving with attention to detail and time sensitivity
    • Ability to work independently and make sound, timely business decisions under pressure
