We're looking for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As Sous Chef, you will be the backbone of our kitchen operations, working closely with our Executive Chef to maintain exceptional food quality, lead kitchen staff, and ensure seamless service during all meal periods. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise, leadership abilities, and commitment to excellence in a dynamic, fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Plan, organize, and direct all food preparation activities while maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation
- Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages continuous improvement and professional development
- Assist in menu planning and development, bringing innovative ideas while ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to organizational standards
- Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and supply chain to optimize resources and minimize waste
- Ensure strict compliance with all health codes, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards specific to UAE requirements
- Properly measure, portion, and prepare all food items according to established specifications and quality guidelines
- Operate and maintain all kitchen equipment efficiently, including knives, slicers, pots, pans, steamers, grills, and ovens
- Monitor food temperatures and storage procedures to ensure freshness, quality, and food safety at all times
- Schedule kitchen staff shifts and manage discipline when necessary, while maintaining a supportive and motivational atmosphere
- Perform opening and closing duties, ensuring workstations are clean, organized, sanitized, and properly stocked
- Make quick, decisive decisions during service to resolve issues and maintain operational efficiency
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure customer satisfaction and seamless service delivery
- Analyze kitchen performance metrics and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and quality
- Cooperate and comply with Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island in regards to OSH instructions and safe working procedures.
- Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves, enviroment and others at work.
- Do not adversely interfere with anything provided for OSH
- Do not interfere adversely with anything in place to control OSH risks.
- Cooperate with organization with respect to acions and or action taken to protect the employee/ OSH requirments.
- Follow OSHMS procedures as applicable.
- Raise identified OSH issues with designated persons and take part in OSH consulative OSH requirements.
- Report all near miss/ hazard/ unsafe/ conditions or act.
- Use appropriate PPE and safety syatems
- Be familiers with emergency and evacuation procesures.
- Attend OSH training as required by the training needs analysis.
- Maintan all OSHMS records as required by the Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Held accountable and committed whatever it takes to comply with the company’s OSHMS Policies, OSHMS
Procedure, & Operational Works Instruction and any other relevant legislation applies within the organization. - Held accountable to take care of his own health and safety, other person in the workplace that may be affected by their acts or omission at work.
