Job Description

Located in the heart of Sydney CBD, ibis Styles Sydney Central is home to Mee So - a vibrant, contemporary dining destination full of flavour and personality. We're on the lookout for a passionate Sous Chef to bring their own style to our team and inspire our kitchen brigade.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef to step into a leadership role and further develop their skills alongside an experienced Executive Chef.

As Sous Chef, you'll be at the heart of the kitchen, leading by example, supporting and developing the team, and playing a key role in delivering exceptional food and service. You'll bring energy, fresh ideas and a hands-on approach while helping to build a positive team culture. You'll also ensure every service reflects our brand standards and the highest food safety and hygiene practices.


    Qualifications

    Bring your own style to the table, along with:

    • Previous experience in kitchen operations within a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
    • Relevant trade qualifications, with a passion for leading by example and building positive, high-performing teams.
    • A commitment to maintaining consistently high culinary, presentation, brand and food safety standards.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
    • Flexibility to work a rotating 38-hour roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
    • A current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, or the willingness to obtain one.
    • Valid Australian working rights.
