Room Attendant

The Fairmont Mara Safari Club is a luxury tented Lodge with a lush and secured private garden in the middle of the bush that connects modern comfort to an incredible adventure in the world famous Mara Savannah.  The luxuriously furnished tents overlook the hippo and crocodile filled Mara River.  The outdoor swimming pool, exciting culinary experience and breath-taking game drives makes Fairmont Mara Safari Club a must-visit destination for safari lovers and adventure seekers. Located in an intimate but wide conservancy which hosts the two last Southern white rhinos of Mara, Fairmont Mara Safari Club gives guests the possibility to closely observe the big-5 and experience all types of safaris from night game drives, balloon safaris, nature walks and bike safaris.

Responsibilities: 

Reporting to the Head Housekeeper, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

• Cleaning of public areas to include and not limited to dusting, and bathroom cleaning. 

• Washing windows mirrors, surfaces stain removal, carpet shampooing & removal of garbage. 

• Stripping beds and replacement with fresh linen and clean towels as well as replacement of bathroom amenities. 

• Pick up of guest Laundry from room to and from laundry and ensuring accurate count of the same always. 

• Provide turn down services. 

• Attend to guest promptly and accurately. 

• Check inventory of room after guest has left advising supervisors if anything is missing. 

• Ensure all room appliances are functioning well and any defects reported to engineering immediately.

• Maintain all work equipment clean i.e housekeeping cleaning cloths, brushes etc. 

• Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and inquiries 

• Follow company policy for lost and found 

• Report defective machinery immediately to supervisor for follow up. 

• Handle cleaning properties ie VIP, Make up, Early arrival.

• Understand all room categories and lay outs 

• Adhere to health and safety hygiene and security regulation 

• Performs any other duties as assigned. 

• Diploma in Housekeeping Operations

• Team focused

• Passionate about our guests and business partners to ensure their needs are met 

• Championing change - Shows openness to new ideas and adapts readily to changing priorities 

• Should be able to work independently and as team members  

• should be cost aware 

• should be able to stand and lift items for a 8-hour shift 

• Should have minimum work experience of 1 year in the same role. 

• Should have basic qualifications from reputable organization or previous experience of two years
