Purchasing Manager

Conveniently located amongst Sydney’s CBD, Darling Harbour, Darling Square and ICC precincts at Novotel Sydney Darling Square we are looking for a Purchasing Manager to join our team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller you will manage the the day-to-day purchasing and procurement activities across the hotel. 

What you will be doing:

• Work closely with Culinary, Housekeeping, Front Office and other departments to understand and deliver their purchasing needs.
• Source and purchase food, beverage, operational and general hotel supplies.
• Monitor stock levels, inventory movements and purchasing requirements to ensure appropriate supply.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate competitive pricing and terms.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiencies and maximise value without compromising quality.

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• A good understanding of inventory and stock control.
• The ability to work independently while being a collaborative member of the wider hotel team.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
