**Position: Pool Technician**

**Location: Mercure Kooddoo, Maldives**

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pool Technician to join our Engineering team at Mercure Kooddoo, Maldives. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of our resort's swimming pool facilities. You will play a crucial part in ensuring that our guests enjoy a safe, clean, and well-maintained aquatic environment while upholding the highest standards of water quality and safety compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional service in a tropical resort setting.

• Monitor, clean, and maintain all assigned swimming pools to ensure they meet resort standards and guest expectations
• Conduct daily water quality testing (pH, chlorine levels, alkalinity) and maintain detailed records of all test results and maintenance activities
• Maintain water quality at required standard levels and adjust chemical treatments as needed to ensure safe swimming conditions
• Inspect pool areas regularly to identify and address potential hazards, ensuring a safe environment for all guests and staff
• Perform preventive maintenance on pool equipment, including filters, pumps, dosing systems, and chlorinators to maximize efficiency and longevity
• Execute necessary repairs to pool systems and equipment, troubleshooting issues and implementing solutions in a timely manner
• Monitor water consumption and report any abnormalities or leaks to the Director of Engineering immediately
• Manage inventory of pool maintenance materials and chemicals, tracking stock levels and placing orders as needed
• Maintain proper care and organization of all tools, equipment, and materials used in pool operations
• Communicate effectively with team members, guests, and management to ensure satisfaction and address concerns promptly
• Keep detailed work logs and maintain comprehensive records of all maintenance, repairs, and inspections performed
• Adhere to all company safety guidelines and current health and safety regulations related to pool operations
• Respond promptly to emergency situations, including equipment failures or environmental hazards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free working environment at all times
• Perform additional duties and follow instructions as assigned by management to support operational needs
• Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and willingness to work extended hours when required

**Required Skills & Experience:**

• Proven experience in pool maintenance, operation, and water treatment
• Sound knowledge of pool treatment chemicals and water quality management
• Proficiency in testing and analyzing pool water chemistry
• Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems related to pool equipment
• Experience with preventive maintenance and equipment repair (filters, pumps, dosing systems, chlorinators)
• Demonstrated ability to maintain detailed records and documentation
• Inventory management and stock control experience
• Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, proactive approach
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members
• Physical capability to perform manual labor and maintenance tasks
• Time management and organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure

**Required Knowledge & Certifications:**

• Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations related to pool operations and maintenance
• Familiarity with tropical climate considerations for pool maintenance (preferred)
• Pool technician certification or equivalent training (preferred)
