Company Description

The Fairmont Hanoi will open in the Vietnamese capital before year end of 2025, making it the first Fairmont brand in the country. The 241-room luxury hotel will take design inspiration from the art of lacquer with the traditional colours of Vietnam, the Indochinese style from the French colonial period, and draws motifs from Vietnam’s dynasties. Positioned as an urban resort, our guests will be able to enjoy a very special and unique range of offerings such as eight dining and bar venues including a rooftop terrace, as well as two indoor and outdoor swimming pools, an extensive gym and an entire floor of wellness spa and bathhouse. For corporate and social groups, the Fairmont Hanoi will offer three ballrooms, the largest being a 1,100m2 grand ballroom as well as nine meeting rooms, making it an outstanding destination for meetings, conferencing and events. The Fairmont Hanoi is set to become the social epicentre of Hanoi! 


Job Description

This position is responsible for assisting the Director of Talent & Culture in the smooth running of the Talent & Culture function within the hotel ensuring best practice is followed at all times. 

Human Resources Management

  • Review and update Talent & Culture policies, procedures, and related HR documentation to align with brand and legal standards.

  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies and government regulations related to labor law and employment practices.

  • Monitor trends in the local labor market and social legislation; provide strategic recommendations to management.

  • Administer the Performance Appraisal Program and advise department heads throughout the evaluation process.

  • Counsel hotel personnel in areas such as career development, performance issues, and employee relations.

  • Investigate and advise on disciplinary actions to ensure they are compliant with labor law and internal policy, in consultation with the Director of Talent & Culture.

  • Maintain good working relationships across departments and with external HR partners.

  • Prepare and issue HR-related correspondence and periodic reports to management.

  • Organize and oversee employee engagement, social, and wellness activities.

  • Manage all procedures related to expatriate employees’ documentation, including visa application, work permit processing, and temporary residence card coordination, ensuring timely compliance with all local legal requirements.

Recruitment & Pre-opening Workforce Planning

  • Assist the recruitment process during the pre-opening stage, working closely with the Director of Talent & Culture to ensure all staffing needs are met in a timely and strategic manner.

  • Act as the key coordinator for all hiring activities, including job posting, screening, interviewing, and selection — in alignment with the hotel's opening timeline and brand standards.

  • Develop and implement recruitment procedures and strategies to attract the most qualified candidates for position vacancies in the hotel 

  • Analyze the hotel manpower requirements 

  • Coordinate with the hiring managers on the recruitment of qualified personnel based on approval by the divisional head and General Manager, following established standards, policies and procedures 

  • Conduct recruitment and exit interviews 

  • Maintain good working relationships and partnerships with recruitment agencies / sources

Team Management 

  • Interview, select and recruit direct reports 

  • Identify and develop team members with potential 

  • Conduct performance review and manages performance issues that arise within the team 

  • Constantly monitor team members performance, attitude and degree of professionalism 

  • Develop, conduct maintain all staff training programs for team members, focusing on their development needs, providing them with new skills to meet the changing needs of the business 

Other Responsibilities 

  • Attend all briefings, meetings and trainings as assigned by management 

  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times 

  • Be aware of the hotel fire & life safety/emergency procedures 

  • Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the assigned by the Management 


Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management/Hotel Management 

  • Minimum 3 years of Human Resources Management experience 

  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language 

  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, & PowerPoint
