Houseperson and Room Attendants

Situated in the heart of the Brisbane CBD, with views out over the river to Southbank, the ibis Styles Brisbane is a modern, stylish hotel catering for both business and leisure guests. With 367 rooms, ibis Styles Brisbane is one of the largest hotels in Brisbane City. We are bright, colourful, stylish and we are looking for our next Part-Time or Casual Houseperson and Room Attendants.

Working as part of a friendly and welcoming team, your role will include the following duties:

The Houseperson role will include:

• Assisting the housekeeping team through the delivery of hotel linen, chemicals, laundry, deliveries and heavy/lifting work.
• Assisting in doing split and join beds as needed per occupancy. 
• Occasional public areas duties which include carrying out cleaning duties as required for all public areas and back of house areas and support the room attendant team (locker rooms, staff and public toilets, corridors, staff room and any other public or back of house areas). 

The Room Attendant role will include:

• Cleaning of guest rooms, storage areas and corridors as allocated to the required standard and in time allocated
• Ensuring guest supplies and advertising material in bedrooms and bathrooms are replenished to the correct standards for the room type.
• Reporting any lost property following correct procedures.
• Carrying out programmed / regular cleaning duties as allocated.

This is a part-time or a casual role which may include some overnight shifts if required to support the team.

The hotel operates 24/7 and you will be required to work across weekends, evenings, overnights, public holidays as required.

• Previous hotel housekeeping experience is desirable
• Friendly nature, willing to communicate with guests 
• Conversational English is highly preferred as you will be talking to guests and taking instructions. 
• Good mobility to ensure clean and tidy rooms for guests in the allocated timeframe. 
• This role involves manual labour, heavy lifting and constant repetitive actions, all in a fast-paced environment. A moderate level of fitness is required to be successful in this rewarding role.
