Job Description

Reporting to the Assistant Director Finance & Business Support, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities

  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Provide administrative support to Division Heads with reference to policy enforcement, business advice and operational assistance
  • Execute the Finance Department’s daily routines to ensure smooth, effective, and efficient daily work practices
  • Ensure that all of the Finance staff are able to understand and follow the applicable policies and procedures that are outlined in the Company’s finance policies and procedures manual
  • Review financial performance of department/area, analysis of variances, forecasts and budgets.
  • Assist the Assistant Director of Finance & Business Support with the analysis and interpretation of the financial data and its communication to the operations. The Finance Manager will also assist with and complete, as needed, the analysis of the balance sheet accounts and the preparation of the monthly internal benchmarking and operational performance analysis reports.
  • Lead and support Accounts Receivable, Payable and Payroll Coordinators while performing their daily tasks.
  • Administrator of the Labor Management System; perform reporting and analysis. Lead the weekly labor management meeting and provide coaching and guidance to Department Heads
  • Ensure that all laws and fiscal regulations of all Payroll related tasks, which effect financial matters of the hotel, will be complied with
  • Ensure all Payroll tasks are completed and payroll is submitted on time to provider
  • Work closely with People & Culture to ensure all payroll related deadlines are met and audited for accuracy  
  • Complete and audit Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations, as assigned by the Assistant Director of Finance & Business Support
  • Ensure control systems are monitored and audited on a regular basis, as documented by Audit Services, to measure compliance with internal controls
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous experience is an asset
  • Leadership experience in accepted accounting practices and principles required
  • Demonstrated experience with accounting system or similar financial software for the purpose of financial reporting, analysis and presentation
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer literacy a must, with a strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Watson labor management
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Physical Demands

This position requires:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required or equivalent experience
  • Three to five years of related experience required

Additional Information

Compensation: Subject to experience and qualifications, salary range $75,000 - $85,000.

Visa Requirements: Successful candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
