Job Description

2.1 Design upholstery cover patterns and cutting plans, based on sketches, customer descriptions, or blueprints.
2.2 Discuss upholstery fabrics, colors, and styles with customers, and provide cost estimates.
2.3 Draw cutting lines on material following patterns, templates, sketches, or blueprints, using chalk, pencils, paint, or other methods.
2.4 Examine furniture frames, upholstery, springs, and webbing to locate defects.
2.5 Fit, install, and secure material on frames, using hand tools, power tools, glue, cement, and/or staples.
2.6 Interweave and fasten strips of webbing to the backs and undersides of furniture, using small hand tools and fasteners.
2.7 Make, repair, and/or replace automobile upholstery and convertible and vinyl tops, using knowledge of fabric and upholstery methods.

2.8 Make, restore, and/or create custom upholstered furniture, using hand tools and knowledge of fabrics and upholstery methods. Measure and cut new covering materials, using patterns and measuring and cutting instruments, following sketches and design specifications.
2.9 Operate sewing machines or sew upholstery by hand to seam cushions and join various sections of covering material.
2.10 Read work orders, and apply knowledge and experience with materials in order to determine types and amounts of materials required to cover work pieces.
2.11 Remove covering, webbing, padding, and/or defective springs from work pieces, using hand tools such as hammers.
2.12 Sew rips or tears in material, or create tufting, using needles and thread.
2.13 To predict that all activities and to be purchased all equipment and belongings may create disease for the environment, to join all activities which is organized to protect biological diversity and shares the responsibilities, shares the individual responsibilities in order to increase environment knowledge and to carry on necessary trainings. To provide minimum consumption currently used all stuffs and equipment (paper, printed out etc.).
2.14 To implement necessary warnings and departmental trainings in order to save energy inside the facility. To carry on implementing decisions which were taken for saving energy. To predict effects of environment and efficiency of energy on purchased equipment.
2.15 To implement his responsibilities in order to eliminate and collect waste in a proper way, reduce environmental pollution and harmful effects to the environment.
2.16 Carry out all responsibilities related to the quality management systems implemented at the facility.
2.17 Carry out all other duties assigned by managers and hotel management not specified in the job description.


Qualifications

 Education: At least a primary school or vocational diploma.
 Experience: Can learn the job in a few months and enhance knowledge in one year.
 Foreign Language: Not expected.
 Courses and Training: Not expected.
 Computer Literacy: Not required.
 Skills: Expected to know the standard work routines and general rules. Required to possess certification for the job, if necessary. Expected to use basic tools and devices related to the job.
