Job Description

  1. Be responsible for mending all uniforms, room & F&B linen, guest laundry of the Hotel  

  1. Ensure the work quality up to standard 

  1. Be aware of the daily hotel activities and has product knowledge of all the hotel facilities 

  1. Attends daily briefing of Linen room staff  

  1. Repairs guest clothes on request and to ensure the clothes are delivered back to the guest on time 

  1. Maintains sufficient stock level of materials needed 

  1. Keeps work area clean and organised  

  1. Ensures cleanliness and maintenance of sewing machine  

  1. Ensures that personal grooming is up to standard. 

  1. Complies with Hotel’s Safety, Hygiene and Fire Policy  

  1. Performs related duties and special projects as assigned by the Superior 

  1. Ensures punctuality, attendance and courteous attitude 

  1. Perform as per Rixos Standards. 

  1. Be fully aware of the Talk of the Walk for the day 

  1. Proper grooming at all times 

  1. Show fullest cooperation and respect within the team and other departments  

  1. Cross training to create back up for emergency case (staff sick, annual leave clearing) 

  1. Attend the communication meetings of her/his section. 

  1. Assist the linen room by issuing uniforms to staff. Upon receiving the uniform request issue from HR Dept, give the new employee his proper uniform and explain the exchange policy Test material.  

  1. Place the uniform request form in a proper file according to the Dept Heading. 

  1. Guest laundry which requires simple mending attends to it immediately (sewing of buttons, seams). 

  1. In the event of a lost uniform, employee must get a new issue form from HR Dept. Lost and Damage report must be raised and sign by employee & submit to Executive Housekeeper. 

  1. If any employee abuses his/her uniform, report to Linen & Uniform Room Supervisor 

  1. At the end of the shift or the day, she/he has to communicate all information that the next shift has to know for a well running of the operations 

  1. Inform Linen & Uniform Room Supervisor of any defect or damage of furniture or equipment in the uniform room immediately. 

  1. Before sending to laundry, check for missing button, torn areas if necessary take care of this before sending to laundry. 

  1. Keep all equipments and the uniform room store area are cleaned after work each day. 

  1. Separate linen, uniforms and curtains to be condemned from those to be repaired. 

  1. Conduct an efficient and courteous service to the guests. 


Qualifications

Obtain relevant service certificates or recommendation letters proving his craft skills as a tailor. Minimum 3 years in a similar role preferably with a five star hotel.
