Job Description

A Public Area Attendant is responsible for the overall cleanliness and maintenance of a hotel's common areas, ensuring a high standard of appearance and guest satisfaction. This role is crucial in creating a positive first impression and maintaining a safe, sanitary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Clean and maintain all public spaces, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, stairwells, public restrooms, restaurants, and event rooms. This involves sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting to ensure all areas are spotless.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, such as providing directions, retrieving lost items, or addressing cleanliness concerns.
  • Assist the housekeeping team by providing support with tasks like collecting and distributing linen, removing rubbish, and restocking supplies for guest rooms.
  • Participate in deep-cleaning projects and special assignments, such as cleaning carpets, polishing floors, or preparing spaces for events.
  • Uphold and enforce all health, safety, and hygiene standards. This includes correctly handling cleaning chemicals, disposing of waste, and reporting any hazards or maintenance issues.

This role operates on a rotating roster working mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, 


Qualifications

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Housekeeping/cleaning experience in hotels would be advantageous 

 

  • Understanding / knowledge on chemical safety
  • An understanding of how to use cleaning equipment I.E vacuums
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written 
  • Detail oriented 
  • A good level of physical fitness is required
