Overlooking the historic Bute East Dock, Novotel Cardiff Centre is for guests looking for style and comfort. It offers a quiet location close to many local attractions, including Cardiff Castle, Cardiff Bay and St David's Shopping Centre. Relax and unwind with our fantastic leisure facilities, including a gym, swimming pool and steam room. The on-site Customs Shed restaurant offers a mix of local and international cuisine, while the bar boasts a selection of beverages for you to relax and savour.

Our hotel is conveniently located for both rail and road travellers. It's just an 11-minute walk from Cardiff Central Station and a 10-minute drive from the M4. If you're flying in, we're approximately 30 minutes away from Cardiff International Airport. Our facilities are perfectly tailored for business travellers. We've got ten fully equipped meeting rooms available, which can accommodate up to 200 guests.

The hotel makes a great base for anyone travelling further afield too. Brecon Beacons National Park, Caerphilly, Swansea and Bristol are within reach. The hotel is extremely convenient and caters to all types of trip.


Job Description

Join our team as a Night Team Member Multi-Skilled and become an integral part of our hotel's exceptional service experience! As a Night Team Member Multi-Skilled, you'll be the first point of contact for our guests during the night, ensuring their comfort, safety, and satisfaction throughout their stay. Your warm and friendly will contribute to our guests' overall enjoyment, making their visit memorable from check-in to check-out.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Service Excellence:

  • Promptly and efficiently attend to all guests with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Maintain updated guest profiles and ensure accurate registration processes.
  • Handle guest inquiries, messages, and parcels promptly and accurately.
  • Collaborate closely with Housekeeping to coordinate room information and lost property.
  • Perform cash handling and ensure accurate account postings.

Security and Safety:

  • Maintain a secure environment according to policy.
  • Conduct night security rounds to ensure the safety of guests and property.
  • Report any safety hazards promptly and handle complaints efficiently.
  • Follow established security procedures and assist in emergency situations as needed.

Training and Development:

  • Assist in establishing ongoing training programs to uphold brand and service standards.
  • Induct new staff members and ensure adherence to service procedures and standards.
  • Communicate openly with staff, providing regular briefings and relevant information.

Health, Safety, and Environment:

  • Comply with health, safety, and environment policies and procedures.
  • Participate in workplace consultation on health and safety matters.
  • Report any hazards, incidents, or injuries promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain hygiene standards for food handling and presentation.
  • Ensure compliance with liquor licensing requirements.

Customer Relations and Sales:

  • Provide efficient, friendly, and professional service to all guests.
  • Actively promote special promotions and facilities available within the hotel.
  • Implement Accor values and customer vision to deliver the best service.

Other Duties:

  • Complete all assigned tasks accurately and within designated time frames.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance personal and departmental standards.
  • Abide by Accor policies on Equal Employment Opportunity and workplace harassment.
  • Maintain confidentiality of hotel, customer, and staff information

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
