The Mercure Townsville is on the hunt for a dedicated and energetic Maintenance Handyperson to  support our Maintenance team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manger, this varied role requires you to maintain the building, plant and equipment, fixtures and fittings throughout the Hotel to the required standards. You will be part of the team that ensures we provide a safe and functional environment for all guest, visitors and employees. Duties include:

• Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on property’s facilities and equipment. This includes basic plumbing, electrical, painting and general repairs.
• Inspect all areas of the property for safety issues and take immediate corrective action Servicing of plant and general equipment as directed.
• Performing duties relevant to experience and trade as applicable and also perform other maintenance related tasks as required.
• Assisting other team members in the completion of their duties.
• Complying with safe work practices by following Accor Hotels WHS and Environmental policies.
• Assist guests regarding property facilities in an informative and helpful way

Your experience and skills include:

• Relevant building maintenance experience is an asset
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable with the the ability to work both unsupervised and in a team environment
• Attention to detail
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to positively engage with guests ensuring their stay is memorable.
• Availability to work weekends
