Job Description

The Inside Golf Service Specialist is responsible for delivering exceptional golf service at the golf course, primarily in the golf shop, but also including the Arrival/Departure area. Maximizing guest service satisfaction and standards compliance will be the primary focus of the Inside Golf Services Specialist.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing a memorable and engaging experience for all members and guests.
  • Ensuring that all equipment and all work areas are cleaned and maintained to a high standard and all equipment is in good, safe working conditions.
  • Ensuring the Golf Retail Shop is kept cleaned, stocked to par levels and live a culture of service standards and up-selling.
  • Assisting in the supervision of the Starters/Marshals Area.  Ensuring it is staffed, kept cleaned, stocked to par levels and live a culture of Service Standards and up-selling.
  • Assisting in the supervision of the proper maintenance and updating of the Point of Sale (POS) System.
  • Ensuring the proper daily use, maintenance & updating of the Tee Reservation System at Fairmont Southampton.
  • Ensuring the proper collection of guest data at time of booking or check-in and that this is properly recorded in the Tee Reservation System.
  • Assisting in the supervision of and execution of the Merchandise Plan and provide feedback and suggested alterations as required.
  • Ensuring retail displays are kept fresh and clean and all merchandise is professionally displayed and tagged with the proper description, code and price.
  • Monitoring purchase patterns and updating the Director of Golf for buying product
  • In concert with the Head Golf Professional assist in developing and executing an in–store marketing strategy, promotional plan and incentive program focused on increasing revenues and profitability
  • Ensuring controls in place for inventories are being followed.

 


Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a working in a hospitality/golf retail environment with specific experience in golf event management and tee time management.
  • A track record for sales and customer service excellence in a retail environment is essential
  • A minimum of 3 years experience working with a Windows based golf POS system and electronic tee time sheet (booking and management tool) Word and Excel preferred
  • Golf ability is an asset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
  • Proven experience with the creation and implementation of golf sales merchandise and revenue enhancement programs
  • Lifting Required: (15kgs): Rearranging inventory, boxes of merchandise, etc.
  • Repetitive Tasks / Movements: Standing for extended periods

Schedules:  Irregular hours including nights, weekends and public holidays apply to this position
