Job Description

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:


You are at the heart of the hotel! As a Housekeeping Supervisor you will ensure our guests have an exceptional experience by inspecting guest rooms and assisting your housekeeping colleagues while upholding the highest brand standards of service.

You enjoy working in a team and accomplishing tasks that will make other’s feel cared for - and it just so happens you’ll be doing just that in an award-winning hotel.

  • Being familiar with the property, departments, hours of operation and services of the hotel
  • Assisting with training, ordering supplies and providing support in order to consistently provide quality guest rooms and public areas
  • Completing maintenance work orders (Swiss Service)
  • Monitoring and evaluating Room Attendant’s performance
  • Turning in all lost and found items in accordance with the Lost and Found procedures
  • Cleaning, dusting, scrubbing, polishing and servicing guestrooms (when needed) in accordance with hotel procedures and Housekeeping Room Attendant checklist
  • Conducting room inspections to ensure all rooms are cleaned to standard
  • Maintaining status reports for guest rooms
  • Actively participating in housekeeping’s ‘deep clean’ or ‘preventive maintenance’ programs
  • Running all Housekeeping Reports
  • Reporting any damage and hazards or suspicious activity in hallways or heart of the house.
  • Answering the housekeeping phone and fulfilling guest requests
  • Consistently walking the hotel for inspection purposes
  • Providing warm and friendly service for both internal or external guests
  • Actively participating in morning briefings
  • Participating in any scheduled training and development programs
  • Following all safety rules, emergency procedures and fire prevention regulations.
  • Following all company standards, policies, and guidelines, local government regulations and service standards
  • Any other tasks that may be assigned

Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Constant standing and walking throughout the shift
  • Constant bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling
  • Occasional lifting and carrying over 50 lbs
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

Qualifications

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS INCLUDE:

  • High School Diploma or GED an asset
  • 1-2 years related experience an asset
  • Basic knowledge of Excel, Word and Opera an asset 
  • Ability to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to perform all housekeeping duties as outlined in hotel specific training and property specific checklists
  • Ability to anticipate and focus attention on guest needs, being professional and welcoming
  • Detailed oriented and able to handle multiple tasks
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
  • Warm, caring and helpful
