Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offer professional, engaging and proactive guest service while supporting fellow Colleagues to ensure an exceptional guest experience
  • Anticipate Guests’ needs with thoughtful and personal touches
  • Assist guests regarding property facilities in an informative and helpful way
  • Respond promptly to service requests from various departments and outlets, utilizing experience in basic building maintenance tasks such as masonry, painting, carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facility and surrounding areas and perform interior and exterior maintenance and service as required
  • Ensure assigned service requests  are documented and resolved promptly according to the Standards of Accor
  • Work both independently and collaboratively on projects, which may involve planning, sharing information, and organizing tasks.
  • Responsible for safe condition and safe operation of all assigned equipment
  • Being an ambassador for the Brand, Hotel, Community and Colleagues.
  • Participate in Hotel Committees and events
  • Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team, responding in cases of fire, accident, safety concerns and calls for medical assistance
  • Strict adherence to all Health & Safety training, guidelines and work practices previous, during and following an epidemic (whether local or global) that are established by Accor, local government, international bodies including the World Health Organization (WHO) and Center for disease control (CDC).
  • Perform any other job related duties and projects as assigned

 


Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Facilities Maintenance role required
  • Relevant building maintenance skills in commercial electrical, plumbing, carpentry and basic maintenance systems
  • Experience within the Hospitality operations would be an asset
  • Knowledge of Bermuda Building codes with the ability to read, understand and interpret Engineering and Building blueprints would be advantageous
  • Must be able to read, write, speak English fluently
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Strong work ethic, highly responsible, reliable with the ability to be flexible and work extended hours including evenings, public holidays and weekends as required        

Additional Information

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Walking, standing, bending, pushing and pulling anywhere from 2 – 6 hours a day. 
  • Requires constant repetitive motion.  
  • Environmental stress is high – work in extreme weather conditions, high noise level and utilize hazardous machinery.
