Job Description

At Sofitel Auckland, we pride ourselves on delivering a unique and high standard of food and beverage experiences to our guests. Our offerings include La Maree Restaurant, Grape & Olive Bar, French Press Café, Banquets, and Club Millésime.

We are seeking passionate Food & Beverage Attendants to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience across different areas of the hotel and discover your own passion within hospitality.

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have previous experience in a similar position within a recognised five-star hotel. Impeccable grooming, a genuine passion for food and beverage, and a refined manner are essential to meet the expectations of our discerning clientele.

  • Serve food and beverage items to guests in a friendly, professional, and timely manner to meet and exceed expectations.
  • Deliver a smooth sequence of service that aligns with fine dining standards.
  • Ensure an exceptional customer experience by providing outstanding guest service.
  • Take food and beverage orders using suggestive selling techniques and ensure accurate delivery to guests.
  • Provide menu knowledge and pairing recommendations (training will be provided).
  • Clear tables during service, manage guest checks, and process payments following cash-handling procedures.
  • Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate to the supervisor when necessary.
  • Assist with direct service tasks, including serving tables, bussing, seating guests, and supporting cashier duties.
  • Maintain station and table setup and complete assigned side duties.
  • Barista experience and knowledge of coffee and tea are highly advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Proven previous experience in fine dining or a white table cloth a la carte restaurant is highly advantageous.
  • Sound knowledge and skill set of wine service is highly advantageous.
  • Possess Micros operational knowledge is preferable but not essential.
  • Excellent luxury verbal communication skills.
  • Warm, welcoming and pleasant personality.
  • Demonstrate team spirit and cooperation.
  • Act with professionalism and integrity.
  • Passion and willingness to learn
