Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Engineering Shift Leader to join our operations team in Doha, Qatar. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily engineering operations during your assigned shift, leading a team of technicians and engineers while ensuring optimal productivity, safety, and equipment performance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, technical expertise, and the ability to make decisive decisions in a fast-paced industrial environment.

  • Lead and supervise engineering and technical staff during assigned shifts, providing clear direction and performance feedback
  • Monitor production processes and equipment performance, identifying and addressing operational inefficiencies
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies across all shift operations
  • Conduct equipment inspections and troubleshoot technical issues, coordinating maintenance activities as needed
  • Analyze shift performance data and prepare detailed reports on production metrics, downtime, and incidents
  • Respond promptly to operational emergencies and implement corrective actions to minimize disruptions
  • Manage shift scheduling, resource allocation, and workload distribution to optimize team efficiency
  • Communicate effectively with other shift leaders, management, and cross-functional departments to ensure seamless operations
  • Mentor and train team members on equipment operation, safety procedures, and best practices
  • Maintain detailed logs of shift activities, equipment status, and any incidents or near-misses
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering operations or shift leadership roles
  • Proven track record managing technical teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of engineering systems, equipment operation, and maintenance procedures
  • Demonstrated expertise in safety compliance and incident management protocols
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Proficiency in time management and resource allocation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate diverse teams
  • Experience with performance monitoring systems and operational reporting
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or similar software
  • Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and adapt to operational demands
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Willingness to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to local operational standards
