We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Duty Manager to join our team at Grand Mercure Mysore, India. As a Duty Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining the highest standards of service in our establishment.
- Manage and supervise front office staff, including reception, administration, and data management teams
- Ensure prompt, cordial attention and personal recognition for all guests, with special focus on VIPs and repeat visitors
- Maximize occupancy, revenue, and average room rates while maintaining high service standards
- Collaborate with Housekeeping to maintain room quality and ensure timely preparation
- Liaise with various departments to meet special guest needs and requests
- Implement and monitor credit policies and procedures in coordination with the Finance Department
- Analyze computer reports and compile relevant statistics for the front office
- Conduct regular inspections of lobby, reception, and VIP rooms to maintain cleanliness and orderliness
- Prepare efficient work schedules for front office staff, considering occupancy forecasts and group movements
- Ensure staff adherence to conduct, dress code, and appearance standards
- Assist in budget preparation and management for the front office department
- Implement and enforce health and safety policies and procedures
- Resolve guest complaints and address issues promptly and professionally
- Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to front office team members
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in hotel operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Proven experience in managing multi-cultural teams
- In-depth knowledge of front office operations and hospitality industry standards
- Proficiency in Opera Property Management System or similar hotel management software
- Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Financial management acumen, including budgeting and revenue optimization
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Adaptability to changing work environments and ability to make quick, informed decisions
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with various departments
