The Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit, set to open its doors in the vibrant heart of Bangkok, will be the first Fairmont brand in Thailand. This 416-room luxury hotel, taking design inspiration from the Kingdom's rich cultural heritage and contemporary dynamism, will offer an exquisite blend of traditional Thai aesthetics and modern sophistication. Positioned as an urban resort, our guests will be able to enjoy a very special and unique range of offerings such as eight dining and bar venues including a rooftop terrace, as well as an outdoor swimming pool, an extensive gym and an entire floor of wellness spa. For corporate and social groups, the Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit will offer two ballrooms, as well as eight meeting rooms, making it an outstanding destination for meetings, conferencing and events. Job Description

Working Location: Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit or any assigned venues

The Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit is seeking an exceptional and visionary Director of Spa and Wellness to oversee all aspects of our luxurious Spa, Fitness, Health Club, Wellness, and Kids Club facilities. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for upholding and exceeding the prestigious Forbes 5-Star standards in all areas of operation. This role is a unique opportunity to embody our belief that "a Fairmont is a truly special place" by creating a sanctuary of well-being that reflects both our brand’s inclusive luxury and the rich cultural heritage of Thailand. You will lead your team to "make special happen" and "turn moments into special memories" for every guest.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership & Operations:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy for all wellness facilities, aligning with the hotel's overall commercial objectives and our commitment to a balanced scorecard.
    • Direct and manage the daily operations of the Spa, Fitness, Health Club, Wellness programs, and Kids Club, ensuring seamless service delivery that is an "invitation to surprise."
    • Maintain a strong market presence by actively participating in industry events and forging strong relationships with key wellness partners and clients.
    • Mentor and supervise the wellness team, setting clear performance targets, and providing ongoing coaching to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Forbes 5-Star & Service Excellence:
    • Ensure all wellness facilities, services, and team members consistently meet or exceed the rigorous Forbes 5-Star standards.
    • Lead the team in providing highly personalized and "genuine and approachable" service, building lasting relationships with guests and turning their visits into memorable experiences.
    • Conduct regular internal audits and training sessions to maintain exceptional service and grooming standards.
  • Market Management & Business Development:
    • Identify new business opportunities and cultivate strong relationships with corporate and individual wellness clients.
    • Analyze market trends and competitor activity to adjust sales strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
    • Collaborate with the commercial team to develop innovative pricing strategies and exclusive packages that are both attractive to a discerning clientele and profitable for the hotel.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration & Brand Grooming:
    • Work closely with the Rooms and Food & Beverage teams to create integrated wellness experiences for our guests.
    • Champion our belief that "our colleagues are the heart and soul of our hotel," inspiring the wellness team to work collaboratively with other departments.
    • Ensure all sales materials and communications strictly adhere to Fairmont brand guidelines, maintaining a consistent and professional image.
    • Consistently act as a visible role model for the highest grooming and professionalism standards.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Forbes Standards Experience: Proven experience operating under Forbes Travel Guide standards, ideally within a rated property.
  • Luxury Hotel Spa Leadership: Prior experience as a Director or Assistant Director of a Spa in a luxury 5-star hotel environment.
  • Regional and Cultural Insight: Strong understanding of local clientele, culture, and wellness expectations in Thailand; prior professional experience in the region is highly preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in spa and wellness management, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, financial oversight, and business development.
  • Proficiency in English and Thai is essential for creating truly personalized and approachable experiences that connect genuinely with our diverse local and international clients.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, & PowerPoint.
