Job Description

We are seeking a Director of Sales and Marketing ready to elevate one of Brisbane’s most renowned luxury hotels and redefine what commercial and brand excellence looks like in hospitality. This role calls for a visionary—someone who thrives on shaping strategy, driving growth, and enhancing every touchpoint of the hotel’s market presence.

Someone who partners seamlessly with the General Manager, inspires their team with clarity and confidence, and sees opportunities where others see challenges. A leader who can balance the art and science of luxury hospitality: the analytical mind for revenue performance, the creative instinct for brand expression, and the foresight to turn market trends into tangible results.

In this role, you will:

  • Craft and execute Sales & Marketing strategies across domestic and international markets, positioning the hotel as the destination of choice for luxury travellers.
  • Lead, mentor, and empower the Sales & Marketing team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and measurable results.
  • Set, manage, and deliver on budgets for Sales, Marketing, and Conference & Events Sales departments while driving commercial performance.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor insights, and economic conditions, adapting strategies to maximise occupancy, RevPAR, and market share.
  • Prepare insightful reports, track KPIs, forecast Meetings & Events revenue, and provide actionable guidance to the Executive Team and General Manager.
  • Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions, building the brand and generating meaningful connections.
  • Lead client meetings, sales trips, and promotional initiatives that raise visibility and attract new business.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in Sales and Marketing within luxury hotels
  • Demonstrated ability to source and convert key business opportunities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field
  • Strategic thinker, pro-active and focused on achieving results
  • Full knowledge of marketing streams, digital and social media
  • Ability to lead, supervise and coordinate a multi-skilled team
  • Passionate for luxury and knowledgeable about opportunities in the segment
  • Proficiency in hotel management systems and software
  • Well-refined sales techniques, customer relationship management, communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
