What you will be doing:

  • Lead Management: Group and Leisure market coverage in the absence of Sales Managers. This coverage will include all size bookings in excess of 10 rooms on peak for all market segments. Logging of lead information into Opera Cloud system, loading room and meeting specifics based on needs expressed in lead and using space and revenue maximization guidelines. Preparing proposals and client follow up details as well as managing the direct sales effort with the client and the hand over back to the Sales Manager.
  • Conduct prospecting efforts to continue to build pipeline of business opportunities for hotel. Prospecting efforts to primarily be telephone based with potential for participation in market blitzes or other local trade shows or client networking events.
  • Assist with Site Visits for remote sellers when they are unable to participate (to include setting up guestroom and restaurant reservations, amenities, inviting partners to site inspection (Audio Visual and DMC).
  •  Relationship management with outside catering venues to maximize guest room block opportunities and referral potential.
  • Assist in maintaining an accurate client and account database in Opera Cloud and adherence to all Accor system standards.
  •  Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Minimum of five years hotel sales experience required
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Hotel Management Degree preferred
  • Multiple years of experience in senior sales role in luxury hotel environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required
  • Computer literacy in various applications and tools including Opera Sales & Catering / SFA System (or other CMS), Microsoft Office, Cvent, LinkedIn
  • Goal oriented, competitive and well organized
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities, role model in pro-active sales
  • Ability to analyze financial data to create winning group strategies and solutions
  • Positive attitude, firm and supportive, team based approach to ensure attainment of the hotel’s short and long term goals
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours and days

  • Key Working Relationships: Director of Sales, Leisure and Entertainment, Regional Director of Sales & Marketing, Regional Revenue Management team, Director Communications, Director of Food & Beverage, Senior Hotel Leadership, Regional and Global Sales Teams.

Visa Requirements:

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
