Nestled at the base of Blackcomb Mountain, just two hours north of Downtown Vancouver, Fairmont Chateau Whistler defines mountain luxury. Conference Services Manager (12-month contract)
Working within our Conference Services Team, you will be an ambassador for our exceptional offerings at Fairmont Chateau Whistler, liasing between multiple departments to exceed the expectations of your clients!
Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000 gross annually, based on previous experience and education
This is a fixed-term, 12-month contract starting in February to cover a maternity leave.
Job Duties Include:
- Organize convention bookings from date of booking to departure, including meeting requirements, guest room requirements, guest room pickup, food & beverage and audio visual
- Create floor plans for each event to ensure banquets and clients are in agreement prior to set up
- Establish and maintain rapport with clients, prior to, during and post conference, encouraging repeat business
- Initiate billing procedures, ensuring any deposits and/or credit applications are received
- Conduct pre-conference meetings with clients and pertinent departments to confirm all relevant details are communicated
- Conduct and/or attend daily meeting to review event contracts and ensure last minute changes are communicated with appropriate departments
- Previous management experience within a similar role required
- Computer literate with Delphi, Microsoft Office and Property Manager
- Knowledge of hotel banquet operations is an asset
- CMP Certification is an asset
