The Mercure Townsville is a leading corporate and leisure conference, weddings, and events venue in the North Queensland region.  Comprised of 7 fully functional board rooms and ball rooms as well as an enclosed deck, ample lawns, and outside function space. Job Description

The Mercure Townsville is on the hunt for a creative and energetic administration expert to support our Sales team. Your strong administration skills and precise eye to detail will ensure the smooth running of our Conference and Events department.

  • Assist in the maintenance of our conference database of key contacts/clients
  • Assist in the preparation and follow up of conference proposals 
  • Actively listen to clients and understand their needs
  • Assist with the formulation of quotations for conference proposals covering venue, function, menu and accommodation costs
  • Coordination and production of conference collateral material
  • Collaborate with multiple hotel departments for each events’ success

Qualifications

  • Superior time management and organisational skills, including ability to work under pressure with competing deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and methodical organisational skills 
  • Initiative to seek solutions strategically where problems exist
  • Service driven 
  • A creative flair to assist with design of conference collateral
  • Working knowledge Opera computer system (desirable)
  • Sound computer skills in the Microsoft Computer Suite

Additional Information
