Job Description:

Job Summary:

As a Commis II in the Cold Kitchen, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of cold dishes, including salads, appetizers, and desserts. Your role will involve supporting the kitchen team in maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene. You will work closely with the Senior Chef de Partie and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and contribute to a positive kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Assist in preparing and assembling cold dishes, including salads, appetizers, and desserts, ensuring that all dishes are presented to the highest standard.
  • Stock Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels of cold kitchen ingredients. Assist with ordering and receiving supplies as required.
  • Hygiene & Safety: Adhere to strict hygiene and safety standards in all food preparation and handling. Ensure all equipment and work areas are clean and well-organized.
  • Quality Control: Maintain consistency and quality in all dishes. Report any issues or inconsistencies to the Senior Chef de Partie.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations. Provide support and assistance to colleagues as needed.
  • Training & Development: Participate in training and development activities to improve skills and knowledge. Support and mentor junior staff as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or kitchen environment is preferred. 
  • Skills: Basic knowledge of cold kitchen techniques and food safety practices. Ability to work efficiently and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  • Personal Attributes: Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
