Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef specializing in Chinese Cuisine to join our culinary team in Bogor, Indonesia. As the Chef - Chinese Cuisine, you will be responsible for creating authentic and innovative Chinese dishes while leading our kitchen team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.

  • Develop and execute menu items that showcase authentic Chinese flavors and techniques
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen
  • Manage inventory, control food costs, and minimize waste
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff in Chinese cooking techniques and culinary traditions
  • Collaborate with the management team to create seasonal menus and special promotions
  • Maintain quality control and consistency in all dishes served
  • Participate in menu planning and recipe development to keep offerings fresh and exciting
  • Ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely food delivery
  • Stay updated on current culinary trends and incorporate them into menu offerings when appropriate

Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized institution
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Chinese cuisine chef in a high-volume restaurant or hotel kitchen
  • In-depth knowledge of Chinese regional cuisines, cooking techniques, culinary history, and traditions
  • Expertise in Chinese cuisine preparation techniques and proficiency in using Chinese cooking equipment and utensils
  • Strong menu planning and development skills
  • Thorough understanding of food safety and sanitation practices, with current food safety certification
  • Excellent kitchen management and team leadership abilities
  • Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is a plus
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Creativity and passion for creating innovative Chinese dishes while maintaining authenticity
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
