Job Description

Summary of Responsibilities:

Individual cleans assigned British Airways crew rooms cleaning a standard of 14.  This consist of heavy work such as: handling furniture, moving loaded linen/trash carts to and from guest room areas and laundry/garbage loading area. Receives work assignment from Manager /Pm Supervisor.

  • Vacuuming carpeted hallways and guest rooms.
  • Cleaning windows ensuring free of debris.
  • Emptying linen and trash.
  • Delivering linen, ensuring Room Attendants have supplies to complete their work.
  • The BA Housemen is responsible for replenishing Robes and Water.
  • Setting up and removing roll-away beds, cribs, microwaves and refrigerators.
  • Removing dirt and cobwebs from guest room and hallway/stairway lighting, railings, doorways.
  • Moving furniture to and from guest rooms.
  • Replace curtain hooks, take down and rehang drapes, replace pullers, clean valances boxes.
  • Clean and insure balcony furniture is in good order.
  • Clean A/C vents
  • At the end of shift the Housemen is expected to clean and pack away equipment.
  • BA Housemen is responsible for maintaining vacuum cleaners, emptying and replacing bags, and notifying the Pm supervisor or Manager about machines needing more extensive maintenance/repair.
  • Ensure lights are working in assigned area, walls and railings with no chips, and deficiencies are being reported in Hotsos.

The BA Housemen is to sign out in housekeeping office once the Pm Supervisor gives permission to leave for the night also, returning handheld device to the office and master key to the East Gate Security Office.


Qualifications

Qualifications:    

  • Previous housekeeping experience in a luxury hotel environment is an asset
  • Must possess a strong work ethic and be able to work efficiently in a demanding, fast paced environment
  • Must be physically fit and have the ability to stand, lift, push and pull for long periods during shift
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of all hotel facilities and surrounding area is an asset
  • Ability to work well under pressure

Additional Information

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Walking, standing, bending, pushing and pulling anywhere from 2 – 6 hours a day. 
  • Does not lift weights exceeding 25 lbs. 
  • Requires constant repetitive motion.
