Bilingual Server (Temporary Full-Time)-Hiring Event

Located in the heart of Canada's capital next door to the Parliament Buildings, the landmark Fairmont Chateau Laurier hotel in Ottawa is looking to fill a Server from May 11th to October 15th, 2026.

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Leadership, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
• Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
• Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
• Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions
• Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
• Other duties as assigned

• Previous customer service experience required
• 1-2 years server experience in a similar environment
• Previous point of sale system experience an asset, but not required
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Fluent in both official languages required
• Smart Serve Certification required
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible and reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
• Passing grade on the written recruitment server exam

Physical Aspects of Position (included but not limited to):

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
• Occasional kneeling, lifting
• Occasional ascending or descending stairs and ramps
