Job Description

Role Overview

As a Bellman at Banyan Tree Dubai, you are responsible for delivering seamless arrival and departure experiences for guests, ensuring their luggage, transportation, and initial resort journey are handled with care, efficiency, and warmth.

You are a key ambassador of the Banyan Tree brand, providing discreet, attentive, and personalised service from the moment guests arrive until their departure.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Arrival & Departure

  • Welcome guests warmly upon arrival at the resort entrance.
  • Assist guests with luggage handling, loading, and delivery to rooms.
  • Escort guests to their rooms and provide a brief introduction to room features and resort facilities.
  • Support smooth and efficient departure processes, including luggage collection and transport assistance.

Guest Service & Assistance

  • Assist guests with general enquiries and directions within the resort.
  • Support guests with transport arrangements (taxis, valet, transfers).
  • Deliver items such as amenities, messages, or guest requests promptly.
  • Provide a friendly and professional point of contact at all times.

Luggage Handling & Delivery

  • Ensure all luggage is handled carefully, securely, and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of luggage during arrival and departure processes.
  • Deliver luggage to rooms promptly and in coordination with Front Office.
  • Report any lost, delayed, or damaged items immediately.

Operational Support

  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the lobby, entrance, and luggage storage areas.
  • Support valet and driveway operations when required.
  • Assist Front Office and Concierge teams during peak periods.
  • Ensure bell desk and luggage areas are always orderly and presentable.

Communication & Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with Front Office, Concierge, and Security teams.
  • Communicate guest arrivals, departures, and special requests efficiently.
  • Support smooth guest flow during busy periods.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety procedures related to luggage handling and guest transport.
  • Ensure compliance with resort service standards and SOPs.
  • Maintain guest confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Bellman, Porter, or Guest Services Attendant in a hotel or resort preferred.
  • Strong understanding of guest service standards in luxury hospitality.
  • Good physical fitness due to luggage handling requirements.
  • Valid driving licence (preferred depending on property requirements).
  • Good spoken English; additional languages are beneficial.
