We are seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Assistant Director of Engineering to join our team in Cairo, Egypt. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Director of Engineering to lead our engineering department, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities while driving continuous improvement and efficiency.

• Assist in developing and implementing comprehensive preventive maintenance programs for all building systems and equipment
• Oversee and coordinate maintenance, repair, and renovation projects across the facility
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure engineering services meet operational needs and guest expectations
• Manage the engineering team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
• Develop and monitor departmental budgets, including capital expenditure planning and cost control measures
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards in Cairo
• Implement and maintain energy and water management programs to optimize resource utilization
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and repair services
• Participate in emergency response planning and lead the engineering team during critical situations
• Stay updated on technological advancements and industry best practices to improve facility operations
• Contribute to the development of long-term strategies for facility improvements and sustainability initiatives

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree or professional certifications are a plus
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in facilities management or engineering, preferably in a luxury hospitality or similar high-end environment
• Strong technical knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems
• Demonstrated experience in project management and budget administration
• Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office suite
• Thorough understanding of local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards in Cairo, Egypt
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick, informed decisions
• Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of developing and motivating staff
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff, guests, and external partners
• Experience in energy management and sustainability practices
• Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency situations as needed
• Familiarity with luxury standards and commitment to delivering exceptional service quality
• Pre-opening experience in a hospitality or similar environment is highly desirable

•    Constant standing and walking throughout shift.
•    Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
•    Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting.
•    Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps.
Visa Requirements: Must be legally permitted to work in Egypt.
