Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Chief Engineer to join our facilities management team in Jakarta, Indonesia. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure the seamless operation and maintenance of our facilities and corporate properties. You will play a key role in supporting the planning, execution, and oversight of maintenance operations while contributing to the safety, efficiency, and reliability of all building systems.   • Support the Chief Engineer in leading, coaching, and motivating a team of technical staff members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment
  • Assist in developing, prioritizing, and implementing comprehensive maintenance schedules and preventive maintenance programs
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for equipment repairs, troubleshooting, and specialized maintenance services
  • Conduct technical assessments of facility conditions, analyze maintenance reports, and schedule corrective and preventive work
  • Oversee the quality and timeliness of maintenance tasks, ensuring adherence to established standards and best practices
  • Manage inventory and ensure timely availability of spare parts, materials, and technical equipment needed for operations
  • Support the administration and compliance of local certifications and regulatory requirements, including lift inspections, fire safety equipment, and other mandated certifications
  • Assist in planning and executing large-scale projects such as facility renovations, equipment replacements, and system upgrades
  • Maintain detailed documentation and records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and project progress
  • Respond to emergency maintenance issues and coordinate on-call support services as needed
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure work environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field, or equivalent MBO-level technical qualification (preferred)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in a technical or engineering role, with demonstrated progression toward supervisory responsibilities
  • Solid working knowledge of electrical systems, gas systems, water systems, and building/construction principles
  • Experience in facilities maintenance, building systems management, and preventive maintenance planning
  • Proven ability to lead, coordinate, and support technical teams in a collaborative manner
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing large-scale maintenance projects or facility upgrades
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented approach to technical challenges
  • Proficiency in English and Indonesian (or local language); additional languages are a plus
  • Familiarity with maintenance management software and technical documentation systems
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices for facilities management
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on-call schedules, including evenings and weekends for emergency situations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with team members, vendors, and management
  • Relevant technical certifications (such as HVAC, electrical, or equipment-specific certifications) are highly desirable
  • Demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a dynamic environment
