Job Description

We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Reservations Agent to join our team in Sofitel Brisbane Central. As a Reservations Agent, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our guests by managing bookings, answering inquiries, and ensuring a smooth reservation process.

  • Handle all reservation requests using effective listening and communication skills to secure necessary information
  • Provide detailed information about hotel services, facilities, room rates, and availability
  • Process bookings, modifications, and cancellations efficiently using the reservation system
  • Work as a team to achieve set monthly KPIs
  • Upsell room types and additional services to maximise revenue
  • Take a positive problem solving approach with guest complaints and enquiries in an efficient and professional manner
  • Maintain accurate records of reservations, deposits, and guest information
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Stay updated on hotel policies, promotions, and pricing strategies
  • Assist in inventory management by monitoring room availability
  • Contribute to achieving departmental goals for average rate and occupancy.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year experience as a Reservations Agent or Receptionist in a 5-star or luxury hotel
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in hotel reservation systems
  • Opera or strong PMS experience is required
  • Excellent customer service orientation with a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge of the Brisbane area and local attractions (preferred)
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
