Night Bellperson (Part-time)

The Night Bellperson will represent Fairmont Palliser by providing excellent guest service and will achieve this by having a complete knowledge of all aspects of the position.  The Night Bellperson will conduct themselves in accordance with the core operating standards of Fairmont Palliser.  This position will be of interest to those who will quickly make a difference to service levels by demonstrating a relentless desire to exceed guest expectations.

• Demonstrate excellent guest service and encourage positive employee relations
• Excellent knowledge and adherence of Fairmont standards
• Answer guest inquiries regarding Calgary and the hotel services and facilities
• Assist guests with all luggage needs
• Ensure the arrival and departure of all tours is a seamless process and competed in a timely, efficient manner
• Responsible for valet services when required
• Responsible for appearance of the hotel lobby to ensure a warm and welcoming guest experience
• Communicate with next shift to ensure smooth transition and completion of duties
• Adherence to all Health & Safety responsibilities as it pertains to hotel emergencies, fire alarms, accidents, security
• Provide warm, sincere and engaging service that follows the service standards, ensuring Guests feel valued
• Resolve Guest problems and never say “no” without offering an alternative.  Own the follow-up to ensure the problem is resolved, and be that guest’s point of contact
• Be an ambassador for the Brand, Hotel, Community and Colleagues
• Responsible for overnight hotel walkthrough including newspaper requests
• Responsible for light housekeeping duties and delivery of requested items

• Must be available for night shifts.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and a clean Driver’s Abstract are required; applicants must be able to operate a standard transmission vehicle.
• Knowledge of hotel services and local familiarity with Calgary are considered assets.
• Post-secondary education in hospitality is an asset.
• Previous experience in Guest Services is preferred.
• A strong passion for delivering exceptional guest service is essential.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.
