Scope and Objectives
The Laundry Supervisor will focus at all time in keeping the guest garments and hotel linen in a perfect state of appearance and maintenance, using creative and innovating ways to enhance guest experience. He/ She supervise the daily operation and ensure that the standards, policies and procedures are met at all times. He/ She have to keep guest’s perspective in mind to carry out the mission of the Housekeeping Department and reach the company values, vision and goals. Ensure good service to internal and external guests and maintain adequate supply level for a smooth and efficient operation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Report to shift on time in issued uniform in a neat, clean and tidy appearance at all times.
- Responsible for the smooth running of the operation and all related areas (Laundry, Linen Operation).
- Ensure all the chip linens are scanned appropriately.
- Ensure all the non-chip linens are properly count and registered.
- Prepare duty rosters according to business level and forecast.
- Assign a daily, weekly, monthly goal to subordinate.
- Issue all working schedule and report to manager for endorsement.
- Participate actively to daily briefing.
- Communicate information “in a timely manner” to colleagues.
- Provide feedback in a positive and encouraging way on team performance.
- Is aware of linen fabric specifications and categories.
- Keep specification book up to date and revise it when applicable.
- Responsible for assigning keys and devices when applicable.
- Ensure that all laundry and valet equipment is properly maintained and operating.
- Attend meetings with the laundry contractor to monitor standard, quality and quantities.
- Follow up with outsource laundry regarding operational equipment’s to kept standards at the highest level.
- Handle conduct quality quarterly inspection at the outsource laundry.
- Coordinate with outsource laundry for the pickup and delivery schedule.
- Arrange sorting of stain linens and coordinate with outsource laundry for re-wash process.
- Conduct monthly inventory at outsource laundry factory as necessary
- Conduct manual count inventory and system inventory on monthly basis.
- Inspect all the linen areas including landing of chutes to ensure they are tidy, organized and cleaned.
- Inspect all the linen chutes on each floor landing to check operation and maintenance.
- Contribute to build the scope of work of the maintenance program to make sure everything is covered to achieve and keep high standard, and protect company assets.
- Works effectively with the Maintenance team on equipment maintenance.
- Coordinating with RFID system vendor for any maintenance and training programs.
- Make suggestions for improving the service and operation standards.
- Keep record of contractors and suppliers’ interventions.
- Provide constructive feedback on what was observed keeping in mind quality and productivity.
- Find ways to improve the efficiency of the operations.
- Need to have a good understanding of all our outlet operation to be able to answer needs in a timely manner.
- Deal efficiently with all other departments, outsourced laundry and suppliers.
- Maintain good communication with other departments, outsourced laundry and suppliers.
- Is in charge of various monthly inventories and report to manager.
- Control storage and consumption of supplies.
- Keep open communication with the Wardrobe supervisor to ensure smooth uniform operation.
- Supervise all Line Laundry staff and train new employees.
- Record and monitor laundry cost.
- Dispense On the job training for subordinate and attend training session.
- Be responsible and accountable for recording colleagues training as well as performance management and reviews.
- Dispense daily briefing when applicable.
- Participate to communication meeting with other department when applicable.
- Handle guest comments and complaints properly and keep the management informed.
- Review and update SOP’s yearly and whenever applicable and appropriate.
- Keep records of special cleaning and maintenance up to date.
- Establish cleaning programs to maintain top cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Ensure emergency procedures are followed strictly.
- Ensure health and safety as well as hygiene rules are strictly followed.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the department head at all time.
Abilities & Technically competent Requirements
- Positive attitude.

- Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good Computer skills required (Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word).
- Keep informed all time of trend and new techniques.
- Fully aware of FLHSS standards. Diligent attention to safety.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment
The Duties Require
- Work inside and continuously maneuver in and around all back of house areas and public areas of the hotels.
- Work at a computer terminal during the shift intermittently
- Possess good manual dexterity and coordination to operate equipment.
- Respond to visual, hearing acumen.
- Resistant to stress.
- Will work in a hot & reasonably noisy environment
Education
Post graduate or hotel management school.
Certification
Diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience
Minimum of 4 years working experience in a similar role.
Required Knowledge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Good Business Practice.
- Good people management knowledge.
- Good knowledge and experience in maintaining material and fabric and machinery.
