You are the beginning of an exceptional guest experience. As a Host, you will make our guests Feel Welcome from the moment they arrive! The Host reports to the Captain/Asst. Maitre'd/Maitre’d and is responsible for welcoming and seating guests, taking their drink and food orders, and providing excellent customer service. They must have a strong understanding of the restaurant's menu and wine list, and be able to answer guests' questions about the food and beverage offerings. Luxury hotel restaurant hosts must also be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

What you will be doing:
Consistently offer a professional & friendly welcome experience and engaging service per set standards
Seat guests at tables, answer guests' questions about the menu and wine list
Seat Guest accordingly to floor plan / being strategic & fair to each waiter, show guests their table and ensure guests are pleased with their table, present the open menu to the guest and take guests' drink orders
Ensure that the tables are set to the best service of the guest
Anticipate heavy business times and organize procedures to handle waiting lines.
Maintain complete knowledge of dining room layout, table/seat/section numbers, proper table setups, room capacity, hours of operation, menus, price range, dress code, daily house count, arrivals, departures and VIP’s
Oversee the restaurants reservation system and ensure efficient booking process in person, over the phone and digital applications
Communicate reservation or cancellation changes to management as they arise throughout the shift.
Understand the Server’s tasks in the outlet, shift end reports in the outlet and the POS system
Ensure all menu’s & check folders are cleaned and sufficient quantity, ensure that the hostess stand is cleaned and organized.
Deliver food and drinks to guests' tables when required
Anticipate guests needs, respond to them promptly and acknowledge guest, however busy and whatever time of the day.
Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
Other duties as assigned
Your experience and skills include:
1+ year of experience in a restaurant setting
Strong understanding of restaurant operations and customer service principles
Previous reservation and point of sale system experience is an asset
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Schedules: Irregular hours including nights, weekends and public holidays apply to this position
