Job Description

Working in the Hotel Grounds department, the Hotel Grounds Attendant takes pride in the hotel’s property, maintains various lawns and areas, and has a high attention to detail ensuring visitors’ expectations are exceeded.

Starting Rate: $20.18 per hour

We recognize tenure through our compensation. Hourly rates increase after six months, and yearly to three years. At three years the pay rate for this role would be $23.06

This position will start October 7th-April 16t, this is a seasonal position.

Job Duties Include:  

Reporting to the Grounds Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ensure the grounds, curbs, and hard surfaces around property are clean, swept, and free of rubbish, gravel, and plant debris at all times
  • Changing of rubbish and recycling bins, emptying of ash tubes, and replenishing of wood piles
  • Labor intensive work in the form of shoveling, lifting, pushing, walking fast, digging, and assorted movements
  • Ensures the sidewalks, pathways, and stairs are free of snow and ice at all times
  • Operation of snow removal equipment as required
  • Assisting in major outdoor projects and seasonal events as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous landscaping / snow removal experience is an asset
  • Must have Class 5 driver’s license and driver’s abstract in good standing
  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift and carry up to 70 lbs. up and down stairs
  • Working on ladders and dealing with tall heights while holding/lifting items
  • Working in a variety of temperatures and conditions (snow, heat, rain
