Overlooking the scenic South China Sea, an hour away by ferry from Singapore, Mövenpick Resort & Spa Bintan Lagoon will introduce Swiss-inspired hospitality to Bintan in celebration of Mövenpick's rich culinary legacy. The resort is set to be the new beach getaway destination for all generations with standout facilities, including 420 rooms & suites, two golf course, three lagoon swimming pools, unique restaurant concepts, a two-storey beach club, spacious event spaces. Wellness will also be an integral part of the resort experience, with a vast wellness and recreation village that will feature a gym, a spa, and Kid Club.
This position is responsible for creating a seamless, memorable and safe experience for all guest upon arrival, during stay and when guest depart from the hotel.
Ensuring Exceptional Customer Experience
- Anticipate guest needs and exceed guest expectations.
- Recognize and appreciate repeat guests and elite members.
- Continuously look for opportunities to learn and grow. Have a great understanding in terms of product knowledge. Therefore, able to answer guest enquiries confidently.
- Embrace and take pride in being a part of the Mövenpick Hotel.
Core Work Activities
- Helps guests as they arrive at the hotel, taking charge of their vehicle and luggage.
- Handles any ad hoc requests for taxis/transportations and assures timely follow-up.
- Ensures that all vehicles can circulate freely at the front entrance/driveway. Manage the queue at the front entrance to avoid jam.
- Ensures the smooth transfer of guest's luggage on arrival and departure within the specified timing in accordance to the operating standards.
- Understands the local areas, surroundings and communities.
- Respond to guest queries professionally and appropriately.
- Write down any additional instructions for guests or information about their arrival or departure.
- Communicate with the hotel’s front office, and guest relations.
- Understands the standard operating procedures pertinent to luggage/package/goods storage.
- Handles all guest belonging with extra care. Manage the storage room efficiently.
- Well versed in using the property management system.
- Escort guest to the room and able to explain room facilities and hotel services confidently.
- Assist guest pertinent to courier services.
- Assist guest with embarkation requirements.
- Assist with babysitting request.
- Deliver newspaper to guest’s room upon request in timely manner.
- Ensure Email Correspondence is followed up in timely manner.
- Constantly check what’s happening in the hotel as well as in the surrounding areas.
- Provide guests with information about local events and sightseeing areas and make travel arrangements for guests.
- Upsell and cross sell the hotel products.
- Understands the hotel lost and found policy.
- Able to confidently communicate hotel rules and regulations.
- Make restaurant reservations, map out directions and book tours on guests’ instructions in accordance to the standard operating procedures.
- Make arrangement for transportation/taxi services for guests. Follow up to prevent delays.
- Follow all standard operating procedures and hotel rules and regulations.
- Able to move and lift heavy items up to 20 kg. Standing, sitting or walking for extended periods of time.
- Ensures the safety of guests' property (luggage, vehicles, keys etc).
- Keeps reception up-to-date on any particular information, observations or problems experienced during working hours.
- Vocational diploma or degree in hospitality is an advantage.
- Minimum of 1 year prior experience in international hotel chain is essentially required.
- Fluent in the national language and a good working level of English. Ability in a third-language is an added advantage.
- A recognized driving license held for at least 2 years.
- Understands the local environment and surroundings.
