Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Pastry & Bakery Production:

  • Oversee the preparation and production of all pastries, desserts, bread, and baked goods.
  • Ensure the highest level of quality, taste, texture, and presentation.
  • Innovate and develop new pastry items, seasonal menus, and signature desserts.
  • Maintain consistency in portion control and minimize waste.

Kitchen Operations & Management:

  • Supervise the pastry team, ensuring efficiency and organization in daily operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the pastry kitchen.
  • Monitor ingredient stock levels and coordinate with suppliers for quality ingredients.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Train, mentor, and develop pastry team members.
  • Assign tasks and oversee performance to ensure high-quality output.
  • Foster creativity and a positive work environment within the team.

Collaboration & Guest Experience:

  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage team to create exceptional guest experiences.
  • Customize pastry options for special events, banquets, and VIP guests.
  • Receive and respond to guest feedback to improve pastry offerings.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a pastry kitchen, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Expertise in pastry techniques, chocolate work, sugar art, and bakery production.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and creativity.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
