Job Description

  • Supervises swimming activities at the aquatics facility and ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.
  • Warns swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforces pool regulations and water safety policies.
  • Administers first aid in the event of injury, rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administers CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.
  • Evaluates conditions for safety and initiates aquatics emergency action plan as required.
  • Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable.
  • Instructs or assists classes in fundamentals of swimming as needed.
  • Resolves scheduling conflicts to ensure safe pool environment when competing programs/priorities require use of aquatic facilities. Ensure that all security systems function smoothly. Initiate immediate corrective action when fault is detected.
  • To comply with the Pool Safe Operating Procedures at all times.
  • To comply with the SOP for drowning / Accidents / Emergency case and Emergency Action Plan for the facilities and assist with any such incidents in the appropriate manner.
  • To maintain a vigilant watch of the swimming pool / ocean areas in accordance with the operating procedures and take necessary action to ensure the safety of all swimmers and snorkelers etc.
  • Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Controlling unruly behavior of swimmers and snorkelers.
  • Call out warnings to people who may have ventured too far from the shore or are in imminent danger.
  • Provide safety information to people prior indulging in a swimming or snorkeling.
  • Supervise swimmers to ensure that they are swimming within the safety protocol.
  • Perform rescues in the event of drowning or swimming accidents.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisor and team members.
  • Work together as a team with other security officers.
  • Perform regular Lifeguard training sessions to ensure ongoing personal development, fitness and compliance of the requirements by PMM.
  • To report any matter of concern to the Security Manager / Security supervisor immediately.
  • To report any maintenance issues of safety equipment using the appropriate procedures to engineering department and proper follow up to be done.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 Year of related work experience
  • Certified Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificate, or equivalent
  • American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, or equivalent
  • American Red Cross Standard First Aid, or equivalent
  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language
