Job Description

The Director of Finance provides strategic leadership, functional guidance, and valuable insights for optimal business decision; Interacting with hotel’s legal counsel, insurance companies, tax consultants, auditors, commercial and government banks to effectively control the assets of the business. The Director of Finance will be a highly motivated team player with strong accounting, communication, business presentation and analytical skills. 

  • Oversee the full spectrum of financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, auditing, and compliance.
  • Develop and implement robust financial controls and policies to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager, executive committee, and department heads to drive profitability and support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with company standards and local regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all local tax laws, labor laws, and financial regulations.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure plans, cost control, and inventory to optimize profitability, operational, and financial performance.
  • Lead the finance team by setting clear goals, providing training and development, and promoting a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Supervise and develop the finance team to ensure high levels of accuracy, professionalism, and service.
  • Liaise with external auditors, banks, and government authorities as required.
  • Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Provide insight and recommendations to improve revenue, reduce costs, and maximize return on investment.
  • Oversee daily financial operations, including accounting, purchasing, payroll, and audit functions.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and prepare timely, accurate financial reports and analyses for senior management and ownership.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with department heads to support financial decision-making and business strategies.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, banks, and other financial stakeholders and ownership.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and provide recommendations based on financial insights and data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
  • CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive financial leadership experience in the hospitality industry, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience in operations is a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in financial management systems (e.g., Sun Systems, Opera, Hyperion, or similar).
  • Proficient in software (e.g.,Micros, Microsoft Suite.).
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership ability with a hands-on, proactive approach.

Pay Range: $145,000 - $175,000 annual salary, with potential for additional performance-based incentives
