Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Commis to join our culinary team in Kathmandu, Nepal. As a Commis, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations and contributing to the creation of exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes under the guidance of senior chefs
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Properly store and rotate food items to ensure freshness and minimize waste
  • Assist with inventory management and restocking of supplies
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food service
  • Learn and execute proper food presentation techniques
  • Participate in menu development and recipe testing as directed by senior chefs
  • Assist in the preparation of mise en place for daily service
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Continuously learn and improve culinary skills and knowledge

Qualifications

  • Passion for cooking and the culinary arts
  • Basic culinary skills and knowledge of kitchen operations
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, high-pressure environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • Willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field
  • Positive attitude and customer-focused mindset
  • Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and adjusting recipes
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Previous kitchen experience (Preferred but not required)
