Job Description

We are currently seeking a full-time Commis Chef to join our Birdie Bar & Brasserie. As a Commis Chef you will get to work within a dynamic hotel food and beverage operation across breakfast, lunch & dinner, helping to create memorable culinary moments for our guests.

You Will:

  • Prepare and present menu items showing variety and flair, within the cost margins specified by the hotel.
  • Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage. Have stock control procedures implemented and maintained.
  • Keep all working areas clean and tidy including washing dishes and kitchen cleaning.  Ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced and cleaned. Report any problems to the Head Chef

Qualifications

  • Trade qualification and experience in a similar role, preferably within a hotel or restaurant environment.
  • Excellent technical knowledge with experience in a variety of cooking techniques and styles.
  • Exemplary communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • The availability to work 38 hours per week on a rotating roster. 
  • Valid Australian working rights.
  • Ability to maintain high and consistent standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain food safety standards and understanding of HACCP.
