Job Description

Assistant Director, Housekeeping

Creating an engaging work environment for Colleagues of Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is as important as turning moments into special memories for our guests. The standards and values you model as Assistant Director, Housekeeping will inspire your team – not only to ensure exceptional guest rooms, public areas and heart of the house areas, but also to grow their careers with Fairmont.

Salary Range: $68,000 - $72,000 per annum based on previous experience

Your Job Duties Include: 

  • Lead and coach the Housekeeping Team in providing exceptional guest service, colleague satisfaction and profitability
  • Assist in establishing, implementing, and maintaining Fairmont and FORBES standards, as well as the Leading Quality Assurance (LQA). Be responsible for upholding LQA standards and achieving related goals.
  • Provide leadership support to ensure high morale and productivity levels through workforce planning, recruitment, training and development and on-going communication including performance reviews, coaching and career development discussions
  • Be an advocate of set departmental goals and measurements resulting in a balanced score card of guest, colleague, stakeholders and brand but understand guest satisfaction is dependent on colleague satisfaction.
  • Take lead in guest recovery, addressing guest comments and concerns as well establishing tracking to understand root cause of areas of opportunity.
  • Assist as needed with renovation projects as related to guestrooms and other areas as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a Housekeeping Management role in a luxury establishment, either as a Housekeeping Manager/Assistant Executive Housekeeper, is essential.
  • University degree/diploma in Hospitality or equivalent an asset
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's License required
  • Previous experience managing within a unionized environment is an asset   
  • Excellent administrative, planning, organizational and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Outlook, Opera PMS, REX/HOTSOS-AMADEUS, Microsoft Programs

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
