Maintenance team member

Queenstown's largest hotel, Novotel has 273 rooms catering for leisure guests, incentives and small meetings. Novotel is situated in the best location in-town and on Queenstown's lakefront.

This is a critical role to assist the Maintenance team within the Hotel with a focus on protecting and maintaining the owner investment, to ensure safety and comfort of guests during their stay and to allow staff and contractors to effectively and safely carry out their roles of caring for our guests.

Previous maintenance or handy person roles: 6 months or trade background.

Able to deal with a variety of tasks and repairs around the hotel and hotel rooms.

• Carry out preventive maintenance
• Work in day to day operation for maintenance requirements of the hotel, responsibilities are varied and require a range of  skills
• Involved in aspects of building, equipment, energy consumption, water, contractors, and environmental.
• Good written and verbal communication to a high level
• Work unsupervised in many instances
• Part of a small team and part of a greater hotel team of 130
• Diverse and multi-culture staff where we do our best to make everyone feel welcome.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner of receipt and if there are delays promptly advise the Chief Engineer and / or the Manager on Duty.
• Tools supplied
• 4 day week
• Mainly inside work: the hotel is warm in winter

• Uniform washed and laundered
• A meal provided on shift
• Good social team: snowboard, hiking, etc

$28.00-$30.00 per hour

Previous experience in handy person role for 12 months or a trade qualification
