Job Description

Summary
As the Bar Manager, you are at the forefront of creating memorable experiences for our guests. Your role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation and success of our bar, where luxury meets exceptional service. Reporting to the Director, Food & Beverage, you will lead a team dedicated to delivering top-notch service and ambiance that aligns with our brand's standards.

Responsibilities 
•    Menu Creation and Innovation: Create, inspire, and conceptualize the beverage menus in alignment with the overall direction set by the brand. Ensure menus are up to date, reflecting current trends and guest preferences while maintaining brand standards for quality and presentation.
•    Service Standards: Ensure that all beverage service standards and sequences of services are followed and adhered to by the staff. Lead by example in delivering impeccable service and provide ongoing training and support to maintain high service standards.
•    Budget Management: Manage and achieve the budgets set for the beverage department. Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to maximize revenue while controlling costs.
•    Sales Forecasting: Forecast and keep track of which drinks are most in demand. Implement creative techniques and motivate the bar team to increase sales revenue by promoting high-margin items and introducing innovative offerings.
•    Quality Control: Ensure that all beverage products served meet established specifications and standards. Conduct regular quality checks and provide feedback to suppliers as needed to maintain quality consistency.
•    Supplier Management: Review cost increases and communicate with suppliers to review charges. Apply strategies to lower costs when possible, negotiating favorable terms and sourcing alternative suppliers if needed.
•    Employee Empowerment: Empower employees to provide excellent customer service by providing them with the necessary training, tools, and support. Foster a positive work environment where employees feel valued and motivated to excel.
•    Inventory Management: Ensure that adequate stock and equipment are available before and during service. Implement efficient inventory management practices to minimize waste and optimize stock levels.
•    Elevated Experience: Curate and deliver a bespoke luxury experience for guests, ensuring every interaction exceeds expectations.
•    Service Excellence: Lead by example in providing unparalleled service, setting the standard for the team to follow.
•    Tailored Offerings: Customize services and amenities to cater to the unique preferences and desires of our discerning clientele.
•    Attention to Detail: Pay meticulous attention to detail in every aspect of the bar operations, from setup to service delivery.
•    VIP Management: Personally oversee the needs of VIP guests, ensuring their experience is flawless and memorable.
•    Ambassador of Luxury: Serve as the ambassador of luxury hospitality, embodying the values and ethos of our brand at all times.
•    Guest Relations: Build and nurture relationships with guests, anticipating their needs and preferences to provide proactive service.
•    Team Leadership: Inspire and motivate the team to uphold the highest standards of excellence and professionalism.
•    Continuous Improvement: Implement ongoing training and development initiatives to enhance service delivery and guest satisfaction.
•    Innovative Offerings: Introduce innovative and creative offerings to enhance the bar experience and differentiate us from competitors.
•    Revenue Enhancement: Identify opportunities to maximize revenue through strategic pricing, promotions, and upselling initiatives.
•    Quality Assurance: Maintain strict quality control measures to ensure all facilities, amenities, and services meet or exceed luxury standards.
•    Brand Representation: Act as a brand ambassador both on and off-site, representing our luxury brand with poise, professionalism, and grace.
•    Operational Efficiency: Streamline operations and processes to optimize efficiency while maintaining the highest levels of service and quality.
•    Guest Feedback: Solicit and act upon guest feedback to continuously improve and refine the bar experience.
•    Crisis Management: Demonstrate poise and resilience in handling any guest concerns or operational challenges that may arise.
•    Community Engagement: Engage with the local community and industry partners to foster positive relationships and enhance our brand reputation.
 


Qualifications

Experience/Certificates/Education
•    Prior experience in a similar role internationally or a minimum of 2 years in a luxury hotel / upscale high-end / luxury bar, demonstrating a strong understanding of luxury hospitality standards.
•    Strong background in bar management and beverage service.
•    Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
•    In-depth knowledge of beverage products, including spirits, wines, beers, and cocktails, as well as cocktail preparation techniques and mixology trends.
•    Capability to obtain and/or maintain any necessary government-required licenses, certificates, or permits essential for the role.
•    Proficiency in food and beverage preparation techniques, familiarity with health department regulations, and a solid understanding of liquor laws and regulations governing bar operations.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to effectively communicate with guests, colleagues, and management.
•    Capability to cultivate positive and collaborative working relationships with colleagues across all departments to promote teamwork and efficiency.
•    Comfortable working independently while also demonstrating the ability to collaborate with others to foster a supportive and cooperative team environment.
