Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our dynamic team in Hanoi, Vietnam. As the Purchasing Manager, you will lead our procurement efforts, develop strategic sourcing plans, and optimize our supply chain processes to drive cost savings and operational efficiency.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive purchasing strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • Lead and mentor a team of purchasing professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Analyze market trends, prices, and product availability to make informed procurement decisions
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers to secure the best quality goods at competitive prices
  • Oversee the entire procurement process, including purchase orders, importing procedures, and receiving processes
  • Collaborate with department heads to determine quality and quantity requirements for various goods and services
  • Implement and maintain robust supplier relationship management practices
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and international trade practices
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the purchasing department
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements
  • Manage budgets and forecast future purchasing needs
  • Stay informed about market developments and industry best practices in procurement and supply chain management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior purchasing or supply chain management role
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing teams
  • Strong command of English; knowledge of Vietnamese is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office and advanced procurement software systems
  • In-depth understanding of purchasing procedures, importing processes, and international trade regulations
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable contracts
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities
  • Outstanding organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in implementing cost-saving initiatives and process improvements
  • Familiarity with the local market and business practices in Vietnam
  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and drive innovation in procurement processes
