Accor has a bold ambition: to reinvent the travel experience with a strong emphasis on personalization and a distinctive brand identity. Achieving this is the core focus of the Digital Department—a team dedicated to defining and shaping the future of Accor’s Product Experience.
Reporting to the Product Design team and under the responsibility of the Head of Design (HoD), you will lead the team of product designers responsible for the Brands scope, ensuring the visual and functional consistency across more than 40 Accor brand websites. You will also champion the product vision and foster internal understanding and adoption of Design methodologies.
Your mission:
- Design Leadership: Provide clear direction to your team in line with product vision, business goals, and user needs, guiding the team to create cohesive and engaging user experiences.
- Team Leadership: Manage and support a team of five designers. This includes roadmap planning support, mentoring, fostering a collaborative work environment, and driving innovation within the team.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product and Design teams to align on vision and delivery cycles, and with other departments (Tech, Marketing, etc.) to ensure a shared understanding of Design goals and maintain user experience excellence.
- Design Process Management: Oversee and continuously improve the end-to-end design process, from Discovery to Delivery. Collaborate with other leads and the HoD to define and evolve best practices.
- Design Culture Development: Contribute to design strategy alongside the HoD, Lead Product Designers, and Design Ops. Promote a strong design culture at Accor, fostering innovation and creativity within your scope.
Your responsibilities:
Strengthen Design Integration in the Product Approach
– Co-build OKRs and roadmaps with Product teams.
– Ensure Product Designers understand and are aligned with product visions and goals.
– Collaborate with Product and Tech leaders to break down silos.
– Identify cross-functional dependencies and stay in regular contact with other domains.
– Help Product Designers define and monitor relevant KPIs.
Ensure Delivery Quality, Roadmap Alignment, and Team Rituals
– Ensure every feature your team works on is delivered on time and at the highest quality.
– Facilitate backlog reviews and design critiques; ensure Design System integration and user needs are accurately addressed.
– Establish efficient processes, methodologies, and templates to optimize the team’s workflow.
– Ensure smooth collaboration with resources such as User Researchers and Content Designers.
– Dedicate around 30% of your time to hands-on Discovery and Delivery to model best practices and stay close to the field.
Empower and Elevate Your Team Toward Excellence
– Mentor team members and foster a learning environment for skill development.
– Organize retrospectives and contribute to continuous improvement.
– Set up individual career tracking and support each team member’s growth and goals.
– Promote design culture within and beyond Accor: write blog posts, speak at conferences, and organize internal events.
Collaborate with All Lead Product Designers and the Digital Factory
– Promote adoption of the Design System and shared design standards within your scope.
– Align with other Lead Product Designers to share best practices and solve cross-team issues.
– Co-create and continuously improve interactions and processes with the Design Ops team.
– Build strong relationships with stakeholders and other teams.
– Actively contribute to cross-functional rituals and foster alignment across the organization.
And you?
- You have a degree from a top-tier Engineering or Business School, or a Master’s degree specialized in Design.
- You have strong teamwork skills and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across various departments.
- You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly and concisely presenting analysis results.
- You master user experience design both strategically and operationally, and are able to communicate it clearly to both expert and non-expert audiences.
- You are proficient in methodologies and tools related to Product Design.
- You have at least 4 years of successful experience in a similar role, combining Product Design expertise and team management.
- Professional experience in B2C and/or e-commerce environments is a strong plus.
- You are rigorous, well-organized, and capable of prioritizing and steering team efforts.
- Empathy, active listening, and a pedagogical approach are key qualities that define you.
- You have at least one prior experience as a Lead Product Designer within a product-oriented organization.
- You are fluent in English (presentations are delivered entirely in English).
- You are skilled at building strong relationships with stakeholders.
- You have the ability to simplify and clearly explain complex topics.
- You have a product design–driven mindset.
