Job Description

We're looking for a dynamic and results-driven Assistant Manager Sales to join our sales team in Chennai, India. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in driving sales performance, leading a talented team, and identifying new business opportunities in a competitive marketplace. The ideal candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with exceptional leadership capabilities, demonstrating resilience, innovation, and a genuine commitment to customer success.   • Lead, mentor, and motivate a sales team to achieve and exceed individual and team sales targets while fostering a positive, inclusive work culture
  • Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to identify emerging business opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on them
  • Manage and optimize the sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and timely reporting of sales metrics and performance indicators
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, demonstrating empathy and transparency while addressing client needs and concerns
  • Develop and implement customized sales strategies that balance aggressive growth targets with sustainable, ethical business practices
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively, empowering team members through clear direction, constructive feedback, and professional development opportunities
  • Make sound, data-driven decisions quickly under pressure, taking calculated risks based on thorough analysis and available information
  • Monitor team well-being and performance, providing coaching and support to drive continuous improvement and career development
  • Prepare and present detailed sales reports, forecasts, and recommendations to senior management with clarity and precision
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and customer service teams to ensure seamless execution and customer satisfaction
  • Stay current with product knowledge, industry developments, and sales best practices to maintain competitive advantage
  • Demonstrate adaptability and resilience in responding to market changes and organizational shifts while maintaining focus on key objectives

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a sales management or assistant manager sales role, with proven track record of achieving sales targets
  • Strong commercial awareness with demonstrated ability to analyze financial metrics, identify cost-effective solutions, and drive sustainable profit growth
  • Excellent decision-making skills with ability to assess situations analytically and make rational judgments under pressure
  • Proven experience in team leadership, delegation, and motivating others to achieve organizational goals
  • Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and sales analytics tools
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and ability to close deals while maintaining long-term customer relationships
  • Solid understanding of sales forecasting, pipeline management, and performance metrics
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (preferred)
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and demonstrate resilience in a fast-paced, competitive environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with empathy, transparency, and commitment to inclusive team dynamics
  • Innovative mindset with ability to identify and implement process improvements and new sales strategies
